What is unique to your role at The Friends of Israel?
After working for over 30 years in the Public Transportation Industry in Vancouver, BC, I have now been given the opportunity by our Savior to start a new chapter with my wife Caroll, sharing the love of Messiah by building bridges of His grace and His testimony, both within and between the Jewish and Christian communities in our city.
What inspires you most to do what you do for FOI?
The irrefutable testimony of Scripture that Jesus Christ (Yeshua) is the central figure of human history. All that matters or will matter in eternity is linked in some way to His incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and coming coronation as reigning King over all the earth. Serving with FOI allows us to put that awe and hope into practical action. (Isaiah 9:6-7; Revelation 1:8)
What is one bit of wisdom you have for those who want to share the love of the Messiah with others?
Scripture and history serve as a corroborating and irrefutable witness to the faithfulness and grace of God in His dealing with His chosen people, the Nation of Israel. The Jew, as the landmark of the established faithfulness of God, stands as a testimony to the credibility of the God of promise; most notably, His promise to grant eternal life to “whosoever believes and receives” His Son Jesus Christ (John 1:12-13; 3:16-17).
What Scripture compels you the most to do what you do?
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13).
What books have you read (other than the Bible) that have impacted your spiritual life most?
Most notable for their impact on my life are: The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey; How Close are We? by Dave Hunt; Cup of Trembling by Dave Hunt; Things to Come by Dwight Pentecost; Footsteps of the Messiah by Arnold Fruchtenbaum; The Zion Connection by Elwood McQuaid.
Who is the most influential person in your spiritual life?
Caroll and I met Dave Hunt and his wife Ruth in the early 90s, and they grew to become friends of our family. It was through the ministry and personal witness of Dave and Ruth that Caroll and I have been inspired to keep Christ Jesus and His gospel of grace central and preeminent in all things and at all times.
