Jonathan & Linda Craft (Illinois)

Field Ministries Representatives / Chicago, Illinois

What is unique to your role at The Friends of Israel?

Our ministry in Chicago is focused especially on training teams for impactful outreach within Jewish communities. With a strong commitment to Israel and the Jewish people, our teams stand together to foster understanding, support, and meaningful relationships. Through Hanukkah and Purim ministries, we seek to show our Jewish friends why these celebrations of the preservation of the Jewish people are so important to us as Christians and to our faith in the Jewish Messiah.

We are excited to introduce ourselves to area churches and invite them to partner with us in these outreach efforts. By working together, we aim to build bridges and encourage lasting connections that honor the promises God made to Israel and build awareness of the rampant antisemitism invading our churches today.

What inspires you most to do what you do for FOI?

The God I love and serve chose the Jewish people to be His own treasured possession out of all the peoples of the earth. If I love God, and I do, then I will love what He loves. The Friends of Israel gives me that opportunity to show that love to His Covenant People.

What is one bit of wisdom you have for those who want to share the love of the Messiah with others?

Love must be genuine and not conditional. When you show the Messiah’s love to people, that love must stand whether or not they ever accept the Messiah’s gift of eternal life.

What Scripture compels you the most to do what you do?

“Now the Lord had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, from your family fnd from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed’” (Genesis 12:1–3) .

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek” (Romans 1:16).

Who is the most influential person in your spiritual life?

The most influential man in my spiritual life is a pastor named Mark Trotter. He taught me the keys to Bible study, and his exegesis on the book of Revelation opened up my understanding of biblical history, church history, prophecy, and how to live in the current climate both politically and religiously.
