Charles & June Furrow (Virginia)

Field Ministries Representative / Richmond, Virginia

What is unique to your role at The Friends of Israel?

Giving tours at the Virginia Holocaust Museum, while giving an overview of the Holocaust; and sharing biblical principles with young people, many of whom have not heard those truths. While connecting history with the world we live in today, I seek to stimulate their thinking and encourage a desire for more truth.

What inspires you most to do what you do for FOI?

A desire to obey and please the Lord (Psalm 19:14), a God-given passion for souls, and Paul's example in Romans 10:1–4.

What is one bit of wisdom you have for those who want to share the love of the Messiah with others?

1. Stay in God's Word.

2. Pray much. Always be sensitive to the Holy Spirit for prompting, leading, and patience.

3. Invest time, show love, and earn the right to share the gospel.

What Scripture compels you the most to do what you do?

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” (Romans 1:16) “And not only this, but when Rebecca also had conceived by one man, even by our father Isaac (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls)” (Romans 9:10, 11). “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.” (Romans 10:1)

Ezekiel 2

Pastor Don Pfleger, whom I met just after trusting Christ and preparing to start Bible college. He was pastor of our sending church and has gone home with the Lord. The book Ready for Anything by Carl Johnson.

A.W. Tozer's writings.
