Tom Simcox

Church Ministries Training Coordinator / Trenton, New Jersey

What is unique to your role at The Friends of Israel?

I love to teach the Word. I am a people person. My wife says that I have good judgment, am a good mentor, and am excellent when sharing the gospel with Jewish people.

What inspires you most to do what you do for FOI?

I love what we have been called to and are privileged to do. The desire of my heart is to communicate the Word of God so that everyone can understand it. I want to provoke the lost to jealousy (Romans 11:11).

What is one bit of wisdom you have for those who want to share the love of the Messiah with others?

Be very patient with them. We need to understand how difficult it is for Jewish people to work through what they have been taught and experienced and the information they are hearing. It takes time, patience, and much prayer. We also need to be extremely sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. He will give the words to share.

What Scripture compels you the most to do what you do?

These two verses are so precious to me and inspire me every single day: "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:22–23, KJV).

Who is the most influential person in your spiritual life?

I've been blessed to have two extremely influential men in my life. The first was my pastor for many years. He was always available to pour his heart, his love of the Scriptures, and his love of the Lord into this young, naive kid. The second was Marv Rosenthal, the former executive director of The Friends of Israel. He was like a father to me.
